High-Efficiency BTO-Based Grating Coupler for Electro-Optic Modulation in C-Band Pics
We propose a BTO-based AGC, achieving −1.58 dB coupling at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$1550 ~\text{nm}, 2.7 ~\text{dB}$</tex> better than BTO UGCs. The BTO EOM achieves <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$0.2 ~\mathrm{V} \cdot ~\text{cm} V_{\pi} \cdot \mathrm{L}$</tex> and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$0.1 ~\text{dB} / \text{cm}$</tex> loss, which is promising for PICs applications.
