An Active-Matrix Electro-Dewetting Array for Digital Microfluidics

The development of an active-matrix electro-dewetting digital microfluidics (DMF) device based on amorphous metal-oxide semiconductor indium-gallium-zinc oxide thin-film transistors is presented, featuring pixel circuits that support continuous current for droplet movement. Basic droplet operations, including transport, splitting, and merging, were demonstrated.

Abstract

The development of an active-matrix electro-dewetting digital microfluidics (DMF) device based on amorphous metal-oxide semiconductor indium-gallium-zinc oxide thin-film transistors is presented, featuring pixel circuits that support continuous current for droplet movement. Basic droplet operations, including transport, splitting, and merging, were demonstrated.
