Self-Powered Smart Finger Ring Based on Triboelectric-Iontronic Hybrid Pressure Sensor for Human-Machine Interfaces
This study presents a novel self-powered smart finger ring (SSFR) composed of F-HNPC@Silicone nanocomposite-based stretchable triboelectric nanogenerator (STENG) and an iontronic pressure sensor (IPS). The SSFR enables the detection of both static and dynamic pressure, offering skin-like functionality. The performance of STENG is much improved by incorporating F - HNPC owing to its inherent properties, such as large internal surface area, high porosity and conductivity which enhances dielectric properties, boost charge-trapping and induction ability, ensuring high efficiency, whereas the cone shaped array structures are developed to enhance the dynamic pressure sensitivity and finger wearability without additional spacer requirements with the skin. The fabricated STENG features high stretchability (295%), and high dynamic sensitivity of 1.07 V/kPa, while IPS features static sensitivity of 99.84 mV/kPa in SSFR with enhanced accuracy and wearability. As a proof of concept, the SSFR was employed to monitor static-dynamic pressures during various finger movements for intelligent human-machine interactions.
