Magnetically Levitated Low Stochastic Wind-Driven Hybrid Generator for Self-Sustainable Outdoor IOTS

Herein, a magnetic repulsion-based low and stochastic wind-driven hybrid energy harvester (MR-LWHEH) is newly proposed which is comprising of an electromagnetic generator to harvest low and stochastic ambient wind and a non-contact triboelectric vibration sensor to detect the wind speed and direction. The magnetic levitation force supports the entire weight of the turbine, thereby reducing its effective mass, savonius turbine offers higher drag force on the blade allowing it to efficiently rotate at low stochastic wind, and the repulsive force extends the rotational duration thrice. Top moving and bottom stationary magnet layers have eight pairs of magnets in repulsive configuration, a middle stationary coil layer, and the non-contact triboelectric wind monitoring sensor across the perigee of moving layer and enclosure all actuating together. The fabricated EMG can deliver an average power density of <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$14.08 \mathrm{W}/\mathrm{m}^{3}$</tex> at a low wind speed of 3 m/s. The fabricated hybrid energy harvester and circuit components were utilized to demonstrate a self-sustainable and wireless monitoring system for various environmental parameters and wind motion monitoring.
