Integrated Inp Laser with Wide Wavelength Tuning via MZI-Extended Vernier Free Spectral Range

We demonstrate a widely tunable laser on a generic InP platform. By implementing a Mach-Zender filter with Vernier ring resonators, a 50-nm tuning range with > 50-dB SMSR is achieved, far exceeding its Vernier-only FSR.

Abstract

We demonstrate a widely tunable laser on a generic InP platform. By implementing a Mach-Zender filter with Vernier ring resonators, a 50-nm tuning range with > 50-dB SMSR is achieved, far exceeding its Vernier-only FSR.
