A Micro MRI System Integrating a Perfusion Mechanism and a Micro Pressure Sensor for Biomedical Monitoring

We propose a novel micro MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) system that integrates a perfusion mechanism and an MRI-compatible micro pressure sensor for continuous biological monitoring. This system preserves the physiological condition of the sample while enabling non-invasive observation and high-sensitivity mechanical force measurement. By embedding an RF coil within a dual-channel perfusion structure and incorporating a pressure sensor using a PDMS-based diaphragm, our design improves the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) during MRI imaging and allows real-time force quantification. The system demonstrates stable sample fixation, effective thermal protection, and precise force measurement, achieving a resolution of 0.876 mN. The performance was validated using salmon caviar as a biological model.
