Wide-Range Current-Mode Class-D Power Amplifier
Efficient modulation of radio-frequency (rf) power can be challenging in applications with varying load impedance. Conventional solutions often use multi-stage systems to achieve the required wide power range and wide load range. However, these approaches can be complex, costly, and inefficient. This paper introduces the wide-range current-mode class-D power amplifier (PA) as a single-circuit alternative to multi-stage systems and develops analytical models to support its design. The investigated topology has a simpler structure and can achieve comparable power and load ranges to conventional systems.
