Splice-Point-Twisted Helical Photonic Crystal Fiber for Strain-Compensated Directional Torsion Sensing

We have developed a sensor that eliminates cross-sensitivity between torsion and strain. This sensor uses a splice-point-twisted helical photonic crystal fiber to simultaneously form a helical grating and a Mach-Zehnder interferometer within the same region.
