AI-Optimized 6G-IoT Sidelink for Navigation and Platooning of Agricultural Machinery and Collaborative Robots
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sidelink communication in 6G-enabled Internet of Things (IoT) networks holds immense potential for transforming precision agriculture (PA). This study investigated an AI-optimized sidelink communication channel in a 6GIoT network for platooning and navigating agricultural machinery and collaborative robots (cobots). This research employs AI for real-time decision-making, resource optimization, and adaptive communication. It examines how an AI-optimized sidelink can enhance automation and address challenges related to resource allocation, latency, and energy limitations in automating farm machinery across remote and uneven rural landscapes using deep neural networks (DNN) and federated learning (FL). The results show that the 6G-IoT sidelink framework demonstrates substantial improvements over legacy sidelink technology in latency, bandwidth utilization, and energy efficiency (EE).
