Modular Architecture for UAV Cooperation in Digital Agriculture
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) play an important role in precision agriculture. However, an important concern while developing UAV-based solutions for this sector is modularization aiming at an easier customization of the systems under development. Observing this issue, this paper presents the development of a modular architecture for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in agricultural environments, focusing on creating modular and reusable hardware and software components. The architecture will integrate specific layers for communication and control, enabling the cooperative management of these vehicles in applications such as crop health monitoring, precise and efficient input application, and agricultural process optimization. This will be achieved by integrating frameworks and middleware, facilitating coordinated, adaptive, and scalable operations that allow the integration of different models and configurations of vehicles or robots. The project addresses the scientific and technological challenges of advanced automation and robotics in precision and digital agriculture.
