Improved Inner Loop Model and Deadbeat Voltage Control in Predictive Multiloop Deadbeat Control for Voltage Source Converters with LC Filters

We found that the inner current model in the conventional multiloop deadbeat current control does not fully capture the significant transient dynamics of the inductor current in voltage source converters (VSCs) with inductive-capacitive (LC) filters. A revised model is proposed that more accurately reflects the transient dynamics from the perspective of the outer loop. The deadbeat voltage control equation is derived based on the proposed inner loop model. Furthermore, we have interpreted the physical meaning of the proposed inner loop model and have examined the relationship between the inner loop model and voltage control. Simulations and hardware experiments have demonstrated that the proposed inner loop model and deadbeat voltage control achieve less overshoot and shorter settling time in the voltage control than the conventional predictive multiloop deadbeat control.
