Cladding Pumped L-Band 19-Core EDFA in a Compact Optical Module
We integrate a cladding-pumped L-band 19-core EDFA into a <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$125 \times 150 \times 40 \text{mm}$</tex> optical module mounted in a 19-inch 1-unit sized housing. We confirm stable operation at <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$25.7 \text{dBm} /$</tex> core output with amplification characteristics comparable to conventional ones.
