Unearthing Educational Gems: Decision Support Systems using the Analytical Hierarchy Process Method for Inspirational Teachers
This study focuses on the importance of inspiring educators in the holistic development of students. In an educational environment, educators play a role not only in academic aspects, but also in the development of students’ character and social skills. however, the methodologies employed for the assessment and selection of such educators frequently pose significant challenges, particularly regarding the establishment of objectives and the measurement of effectiveness. This research endeavor aims to develop a decision support system (DSS) that employs the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) as a methodological framework to facilitate the evaluation and selection of inspirational educators in a systematic and meaningful fashion. AHP was chosen because of its ability to handle complex decisions by dividing problems into a hierarchy of criteria, subcriteria and alternatives. The DSS designed in this research integrates various important criteria, interpersonal, academic and professional. The results of implementing AHP-based DSS show an increase in accuracy and speed of decision making compared to conventional assessment methods. In addition, this system also facilitates transparency in the selection process, which in turn increases stakeholder confidence in the assessment results. This research enhances the existing body of literature regarding the integration of technology within educational contexts, while also providing pragmatic strategies for educational establishments to recognize and value exemplary educators.
