Attitude of Medical Science Students towards French for Specific Purpose

The purpose of the study was to investigate attitude of medical science students towards French for Specific Purpose. To achieve this, three null hypotheses were formulated from three research questions and the hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. Literature were reviewed based on the variables of the study. The research design that was employed in the study was the survey research design.Three hundred level medical sciences students formed the population of the study, and 25participants were used as the sample of the study. 20 students from Science Laboratory Technology department and 5 lecturers from the said departments.A fourteen item, four point modified Likert scale questionnaire and interview session were the instruments used for data collection. The instrument was validated by relevant authorities. To test the hypotheses formulated, thematic analysis was used for data analysis and descriptive analysis was used to represent the frequencies of participant responses to the research questions formulated for this study. The result of the finding reveals that FSP does not significantly influenced the improvement of language skills and cultural knowledge among medical science students.
