CURCUMIN LOADED CHITOSAN NANOPARTICLE FOR ANTICANCER ACTIVTY

A hydrophobic polyphenolic chemical obtained from Curcuma longa, curcumin has strong anticancer effects across a number of pathways, such as apoptosis induction, metastasis suppression, and cell proliferation inhibition. However, because of its low bioavailability, fast metabolism, and poor water solubility, its therapeutic use is restricted.A natural polymer that is both biocompatible and biodegradable, chitosan provides an efficient nanocarrier method for the delivery of curcumin. In order to improve curcumin's stability, solubility, and targeted delivery to tumor cells, curcumin-loaded chitosan nanoparticles were created for this investigation. The nanoparticles showed enhanced cellular absorption, regulated release behavior, and better encapsulation efficiency. When compared to free curcumin, in vitro tests revealed notable cytotoxic effects on cancer cell lines, indicating increased therapeutic efficacy. These findings highlight curcumin loaded chitosan nanoparticles as a promising nanotechnological approach for anticancer therapy, potentially overcoming pharmacokinetics limitations and improving clinical outcomes .
