Primary Spinal Intramedullary High-Grade Ganglioglioma: A Rare Case Report
Abstract Gangliogliomas (GGs) are rare tumors of the central nervous system composed of neoplastic ganglion and glial cells and are typically low grade. Anaplastic GG is not currently included in the new World Health Organization (WHO) classification and remains controversial. However, the anaplastic term is currently being used for all those showing histological features of malignancy. It occurs mainly in children and young adults and involves the temporal lobe. Histopathology shows an admixture of neoplastic ganglion and glial cells along with micro-vascular proliferation and mitosis. Herein, we report a case of high-grade GG involving the spinal cord in a14-year male patient.
