The universal inequality 0 > 0 has been established as a fundamental constraint governing all causal responses. While this axiom unifies the dynamics of natural systems-the form of responses-we show here that it simultaneously implies a criterion for the very existence of stable structures. We propose the Stability Criterion:which requires the intrinsic minimum response time of a system to be much smaller than its lifetime.Systems failing this inequality cannot sustain existence, while those that satisfy it achieve stability across scales. From the permanence of the proton to the endurance of DNA and the emergence of conscious processes, this criterion governs the persistence of matter, life, and mind. Thus, 0 is not merely a law of dynamics but a universal law of existence.
