Enhanced Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue Using Hydrogen Plasma‐Treated TiO 2 @Ti 3 C 2 T <i>x</i> @ZnFe 2 O 4 Heterostructure Composites

This study examines the impact of hydrogen plasma treatment on the photocatalytic activity of the TiO 2 @Ti 3 C 2 T x @ZnFe 2 O 4 composites. Through photocatalytic degradation tests of methylene blue (MB), the optimal plasma treatment conditions, including temperature, power, and duration, are determined. The results indicate that the reaction rate of the treated Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene‐based photocatalyst is 1.6 times higher than that of the untreated sample. Furthermore, the treated photocatalyst completely degrades MB under optimal plasma conditions within 105 min of UV irradiation. This enhanced performance is due to the hydrogen plasma treatment modifying the surface functional groups of the Ti 3 C 2 T x compound and the presence of Ti 4+ on its surface within the TiO 2 @Ti 3 C 2 T x @ZnFe 2 O 4 heterostructure. These factors promote the separation of photogenerated electron‐hole pairs and prevent their recombination. The innovative application of hydrogen plasma treatment significantly boosts the photocatalytic efficiency of MXene‐based composites, paving the way for advanced dye removal technologies.
