Birefringence effect in Raman scattering of black phosphorus and anisotropic materials
This paper adds birefringence consideration to the conventional classical Raman scattering theory commonly found in literature to address birefringence and interference effects in Raman spectroscopy. It will analyze some literature experiment results of polarized Raman scattering shift and intensity profiles on black phosphorus to show that this theory can qualitatively explain the experiment results better than the existing theories in the literature. It is hoped that the new results can be useful for both first-principle calculation studies and experimental studies.
