Research on the rights protection mechanism of gig workers under algorithmic management based on Citespace

With the rapid development of the digital economy, algorithm management has been widely used in the gig economy, which has significantly improved labor efficiency while also bringing many problems about the protection of workers’ rights and interests. Therefore, using quantitative analysis and the CiteSpace literature analysis tool, this paper conducts a visual analysis of relevant international literature from 2015 to 2025 to explore the research status, hot issues and trends of the protection of gig workers’ rights and interests under algorithm management. It is found that the current research hotspots on the protection of gig workers’ rights and interests under algorithm management have shifted to multi-dimensional social equity, paying more attention to cross-cutting fields such as algorithm ethics, workers’ mental health, and digital human rights. However, existing research still has shortcomings in terms of algorithm transparency, improvement of legal framework, and labor participation mechanism. This article focuses on optimizing the legal framework, technical governance, management innovation, and the construction of a social support system to provide theoretical and practical guidance for the protection of gig workers’ rights and interests.
