Analysis of the coupling and correlation between Harmonious and Beautiful Countryside construction and the Digital Economy

This study employs panel data from 29 Chinese provinces spanning 2013 to 2022 to investigate the synergistic relationship between rural revitalization and digital economic development. Utilizing methodologies including entropy weighting, coupled coordination modeling, and spatial econometric analysis, the research evaluates provincial-level development dynamics and identifies critical drivers of system integration. Key findings reveal: (1) Sustained advancements in both the Harmonious and Beautiful Countryside initiative and digital economy metrics over the study period. (2) Enhanced coordination between the two systems, with distinct spatial clustering patterns (HH, LL, LH) observed across regions. (3) Regional disparities between eastern, central, and western provinces persist as the primary determinant of uneven coordination levels; however, both inter- and intra-regional gaps have narrowed significantly in the past decade.
