The Impact of ESG Performance and Financing Constraints on the Performance of Chinese Agricultural Enterprises': A Regression Analysis Based on Stata Software

Against the backdrop of a growing demand for the disclosure of non-financial information, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting has become an important means of communication between companies and their stakeholders. It is increasingly serving as a fundamental basis for stakeholder decision-making. This study uses regression analysis based on STATA software to examine how ESG performance improves corporate performance, alleviates financing constraints, and moderates financing effects, with Chinese agricultural listed companies serving as the research object. The findings of the research indicate that ESG performance positively impacts the corporate performance of Chinese agricultural listed companies. The higher the ESG rating, the greater the promotional effect on corporate performance. Furthermore, ESG performance significantly positively impacts the financing constraints of agricultural enterprises. When agricultural listed companies demonstrate good ESG performance, their financing constraints can be significantly alleviated. ESG performance partially mediates the relationship between financing constraints and corporate performance, effectively promoting improvements in business outcomes by alleviating funding constraints. Based on these findings, we propose strategic recommendations for implementation at corporate and national levels.
