This research aims to (1) develop an online course for the Multimedia Programming subject integrated with the design thinking process to enhance the professional competencies of courseware developers, (2) assess the quality of the online course, (3) evaluate the effectiveness of the online course, (4) compare students’ learning achievement before and after using the online course, (5) measure the competencies of students who studied with the online course, and (6) assess students’ satisfaction with the developed online course. The sample group consisted of 30 second-year vocational certificate students majoring in Business Computing, selected through simple random sampling. The research instruments included the developed online course, a learning achievement test, a competency assessment for courseware developers, and a student satisfaction questionnaire. The research findings revealed that the developed online course was rated by subject matter and technical experts as having a very high level of quality (Mean = 4.32, S.D. = 0.26). Moreover, the effectiveness of the online course was 81.50/82.33, which was higher than the established standard of 80/80. Additionally, students’ post-learning achievement scores were significantly higher than their pre-learning scores at the .05 level (t = 9.28). The competency assessment results indicated that students' professional competencies were at a very high level (Mean = 3.41, S.D. = 0.72). Furthermore, the overall student satisfaction with the online course was at a high level (Mean = 4.07, S.D. = 0.64) These findings suggest that the developed online course effectively enhances students' knowledge and essential skills for their profession.
