High-efficiency energy storage device with coordinated control of battery balancer and energy storage controller

Abstract This work presents a Battery Balancer-assisted energy storage device based on energy recovery, designed to address energy waste caused by discharge resistors during power battery balancing. The device employs coordinated operation between an energy storage controller and an energy storage box to efficiently recover and store electrical energy released by the Battery Balancer, while enabling reverse energy release during battery charging to achieve cyclic energy utilization. The energy storage box comprises four 3.7 V, 80 Ah ternary lithium batteries connected in series, delivering a total capacity of 320 Ah with high energy density and rapid response capabilities. Core innovations include a 30% improvement in energy recovery efficiency compared to conventional methods, intelligent control, and advanced charge-discharge management, offering an energy-saving, safe, and efficient balancing solution for power battery systems.
