Heating with phase change energy storage of solar photovoltaic air-source heat pump

Abstract With the rise in global energy demand, the decrease in reserves of traditional energy, and the prominence of environmental issues, the development of sustainable energy has become crucial. This study focuses on the photovoltaic condenser-side phase change material (C-PCM/PV) heat pump heating system, which integrates solar photovoltaic power generation, phase change material energy storage, and air-source heat pump technologies. The system can operate in three modes: normal heating, heat storage, and heat release, and a detailed phase change control strategy has been formulated. Taking an office container in Shanghai as the research object, the building heat load model and the system mathematical model have been constructed, and specific photovoltaic modules and parameters of the phase change heat storage tank have been selected for simulation. The results show that during the heating season, the total heat storage of the system is higher than the total heat release. Moreover, the system generates 1102.65 kWh of electricity, of which 973.37 kWh is fed into the grid, and only 154.81 kWh of electricity needs to be supplemented by the municipal power supply. This system demonstrates strong heat storage capacity and significant energy-saving advantages, and performs outstandingly in reducing the dependence on the municipal power grid and improving the heating efficiency. In the future, by optimizing the control strategy, the adaptability and reliability of the system in different regions can be further enhanced.
