Softwares em ginecologia e obstetrícia: uma revisão integrativa da literatura

Introduction: Mobile applications have a significant impact on women’s health. Objective: To explore the different available applications and their respective contributions. Methodology: A literature review was conducted using the PubMed, Scielo, and Virtual Health Library (BVS) databases, searching for publications between 2017 and 2022, with the descriptors “applications,” “menstrual cycle,” “contraception,” and “pregnancy”, using the boolean operator AND. Results: A total of 402 studies were identified, with 32 duplicates removed, leaving 370 articles. After excluding 140 articles based on title and abstract, 230 were fully evaluated, with 63 included in this review. The research highlighted the importance of mobile applications throughout the different stages of a woman’s life, offering benefits across all phases. Improvements were noted in issues related to family planning, whether for preventing or facilitating conception, as well as in the monitoring and follow-up of pregnancy. Conclusion: Softwares in gynecology and obstetrics play a significant role the users’ life, particularly in the context of family planning. Furthermore, the autonomy and self-awareness gained in the context of contraception, menstrual cycle, and pregnancy applications were highlighted, enabling users to make more informed and empowered decisions regarding conception.
