Artificial Intelligence vs. Manual Code Optimization-A Comparative Study

This report presents a comparative study between Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based and manual code optimization approaches. The aim is to evaluate their effectiveness in improving software performance, scalability, and resource efficiency.AI-based optimization leverages machine learning and natural language processing to automatically detect and resolve inefficiencies in code, offering speed and convenience but often requiring human validation.Manual optimization, on the other hand, relies on the expertise of developers to fine-tune performance-critical systems, ensuring precision and contextual accuracy at the cost of increased time and effort. The study explores architecture layers, use cases, benefits, limitations, and performance trade-offs between the two approaches.Findings suggest that while AI significantly accelerates routine optimization tasks and scales well for large codebases, manual optimization remains indispensable for high-stakes applications where accuracy, security, and control are paramount. The report concludes that a hybrid model combining AI efficiency with human expertise holds the greatest potential for future software development.
