Experimental Study on Gear Materials Contact Fatigue Resistance of Seeker Coordinator
Seeker coordinator of missile carrier is subjected to strong vibrations in operation process, so its gears are prone to pitting failure. To address this, four kinds of candidate materials samples for gears marked as A, C, F and B were tested. They were precipitation hardening stainless steel 05CrNi5Cu4Nb with QPQ treatment, AMS coating and AMT coating separately, and nodular cast iron QT450-12 with isothermal treatment. A test platform with specific loading device was designed and built. The test method and parameters were specified. It is found anti-contact fatigue abilities ranked as A, C, F, B from weakest to strongest.
