Evaluation on the Impact Arisen from Transmission Channel Capacity in Offshore Wind Power Integration
In the pursuit of global carbon neutrality, offshore wind power stands out as a pivotal renewable energy source garnering significant attention. This research aims to address the challenges of uncertainty and volatility inherent in wind power generation. By employing a time-series production simulation methodology, the study focuses on assessing the impact of different configurations of the DC transmission channel capacity. To determine the optimal strategy for transmission channel capacity in the offshore wind power systems, this study assesses system operational characteristics across various wind-storage ratios. The performance of these configurations is compared using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). In high wind-storage ratio scenario, the 1500 MW capacity plan demonstrates superior performance, whereas in situations with small wind-storage ratio, the 1000 MW capacity proposal attains the highest cumulative score. Within medium wind-storage ratio contexts, the 1500 MW capacity scheme emerges as the preferred option, taking into consideration various aspects such as the wind power assimilation rate, the management of power fluctuations, and the enhancement of transmission channel efficiency. These results provide valuable technical insights for guiding the design of energy transmission systems in the practical offshore wind farm projects, refining the operational strategies, and enhancing the overall efficiency of offshore wind power systems.
