Implementation of Zero Steady-State Tracking Error for Half-Bridge Three-Level DC/DC Converter Using Modified Dynamic Evolution Control
Isolated half-bridge three-level (IHBTL) DC/DC converter with high performance in dynamic control, output voltage tracking accuracy, and electromagnetic compatibility is needed in electric transportation systems such as electric vehicles (EVs) and all-electric ships (AEs), to convert high-voltage to supply low-voltage devices. The traditional dynamic evolution control (DEC) with a first-order evolution path offers excellent control performance in dynamic processes, and the tracking error can be forced to follow a designated path; however, it cannot achieve zero steady-state error of output voltage under external disturbances and modeling errors in practical applications. A modified dynamic evolution control (MDEC) method using a second-order tracking error evolution path is proposed in this paper to address the steady-state error issue by constructing an integration function into the derived control law. The derivation procedure, small signal modeling, stability analysis, and control method comparison studies are presented. The simulation and experimental results on an isolated half-bridge three-level (IHBTL) DC/DC converter are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of this method.
