National Gold Reserve Trust (NGRT) - Partly Privatized National Gold Reserves
The National Gold Reserve Trust (NGRT) is a proposed framework for partial privatization and securitization of a nation’s gold reserves. A portion of gold reserves would be placed into a publicly listed trust. Shares in the trust would be tradable in the private market. Shares could be used as collateral in central bank lending to private financial institutions, with strict collateral ratios (e.g., 10% of loan value) and dynamic haircuts based on gold price volatility — directly tying central bank credit creation to tangible reserve assets. Dividends from NGRT’s lending-related profits would be reinvested in gold, growing the reserve base over time.
