Psychometric Test to measure attitude and habits in Mexican university students, during and after the pandemic.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic and the need to reduce infections meant that many activities restricted social contact and would be carried out remotely. Educational actions were also subject to these adjustments, which implied a drastic adjustment of study techniques and the means to carry them out. Objective: The purpose of this research was to develop a psychometric test that could measure student behavior and habits in university students during and after the pandemic. Method: The test was structured by 31 dichotomous response items, responsible for evaluating how student habits have changed after the pandemic; analyze what habits will still be present after the quarantine; evaluate the attitude of students towards the pandemic situation; and compare how student motivation has changed, among other aspects. Results: The reliability indices were 0.84 in the Guttman and Spearman Brown methods, which demonstrates the consistency of the test. Among the results, it was found that of the 117 university students to whom the psychometric test was applied, there was a lower prevalence of those who presented favorable student attitudes and habits towards the study. Conclusions: Designing a psychometric test to identify attitudes and study habits in the face of the changes required by confinement allows for an adequate intervention that improves the adaptation and learning of students despite the complex situation of the pandemic.
