Pancreatic Polypeptide Secretory Paraganglioma Successfully Treated With Radiosurgery Resulting in Elimination of Life-Debilitating Diarrhea
A 70-year-old female presented to gastroenterology with a 3-month history of chronic, life-debilitating, nonpainful, and nonbloody diarrhea consisting of >25 watery stools daily with associated fecal urgency, 15-pound weight loss, fatigue, and abnormal sleep pattern. She noted an initial onset of symptoms within a few days of completing a 10-day steroid course for Bell’s palsy. Prior to presentation at our institution, she underwent multiple labs and diagnostic studies with her primary care physician with little clarity.
