Sosialisasi Sertifikasi Halal Bagi Ibu-Ibu Persatuan Majlis Taklim (Permata) 5 Kelurahan Sialangmunggu Kecamatan Tuah Madani Kota Pekanbaru
Halal certification is mandatory for all products circulating in Indonesia according to the mandate of Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance. However, the level of halal certificate ownership among UMKM actors is still relatively low, including in Riau Province. To improve literacy and community participation, the Sharia Faculty UIN Suska Riau Community Service Team conducted a socialization of halal certification to mothers who are members of the Majelis Taklim Association (Permata) 5, Sialangmunggu Village, Tuah Madani District, Pekanbaru City. The methods used include delivering material on the obligations and benefits of halal certification, the halal certification process for the self-declare scheme, and technical assistance. The results of the activity showed high enthusiasm from participants and increased understanding and motivation to take care of halal certificates for their UMKM products. It is hoped that this activity will trigger the creation of an UMKM ecosystem that is halal-conscious, independent, competitive, and able to meet applicable legal provisions, while supporting the strengthening of the halal economy at the local level.
