A Review on Detection of Multiple Sclerosis Lesions in Brain MRI using Fuzzy Wavelet Transform
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex autoimmune disorder affecting the central nervous system, leading to various mental and physical impairments. It disrupts communication within the body by damaging the brain and spinal cord. Understanding MS is essential to uncover its causes, enhance treatments, and work toward a cure. This study critically reviews detection techniques for MS lesions in brain MRI using the Fuzzy Wavelet Transform (FWT) method. With rising prevalence and mortality, accurate and timely detection is vital. FWT provides a powerful tool for identifying complex lesions, integrating computational mathematics and artificial intelligence. The research highlights FWT’s potential in early diagnosis and personalized treatment. Despite challenges like resistance mechanisms and budget constraints, ongoing research and clinical trials promote the development of precision medicine. This study underscores FWT’s role in improving MS detection and future research directions.
