Long-term Optimal Dispatch of Wind-Solar-Thermal-Storage Hybrid Power Systems for High Penetration Renewable Energy Grid Integration
To mitigate climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the decarbonization of the power system is crucial. Utilizing renewable energy for power generation can achieve the transition to a zero-carbon power system, thereby facilitating the comprehensive decarbonization of the electricity industry in the 21st century. This paper addresses the challenges of integrating a high penetration of renewable energy into the grid. It proposes a long-term optimal scheduling planning method for a new power system integrating solar, wind, thermal, and energy storage. Initially, a system model combining Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) devices with solar, wind, thermal, and energy storage systems is constructed to enhance the utilization rate of solar energy and reduce system carbon emissions and overall costs. Subsequently, the energy storage module system is optimized for stability, with an analysis of peak and valley electricity consumption, and the system model constraints are refined to ensure long-term reliable scheduling and operation. The research framework employs clustering methods to process raw data and obtain typical daily data, reducing computational load and enhancing optimization speed. The system model is constructed based on the network topology structure of nodes and solved using the Gurobi optimization solver to obtain a scheduling plan with the lowest total cost and highest stability. The results indicate that the constructed system effectively increases the proportion of renewable energy, reduces the abandonment rate of solar and wind energy, and lowers total costs, demonstrating superior optimization performance.
