Resilience Assessment of Integrated Energy System against Cold Wave Disasters
Integrated energy system (IES) bridges the gaps among different energy systems by various energy conversion equipment, however, it also poses the risk of fault propagation across systems. In recent years, the frequent occurrence of cold wave disasters including high winds, and freezing rain has presented a significant challenge to the safe operation of IES. Previous studies have typically concentrated on analysing the impact of a single type of natural disaster on IES. To accurately and comprehensively assess the resilience of IES in the context of cold wave disasters, it is essential to consider the combined effects of concurrent disasters. This paper proposes an IES impact resilience index for the cold wave disasters, based on the modelling of the probability of transmission line failures caused by high wind and freezing rain. The index is designed to quantify the impact resilience of IES under the cold wave disasters. The modified IEEE39-NG20-DHS6 system is employed as a case study for resilience assessment, the results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, providing valuable insights for operators in ensuring the safety of IES.
