IoT-Powered Poultry Care: Optimizing Feeding and Watering with Raspberry Pi and ESP-8266
In Malaysia, poultry meat ranks as the most consumed meat, dominating the country’s total meat consumption. This underscores the critical role of poultry production. This paper presents the development of an automated poultry nutrition and hydration system utilizing the Raspberry Pi Model 5, ESP-8266, and a variety of sensors to optimize efficiency and minimize manual labour for small and medium-sized farms. The system seamlessly integrates hardware components like load cell and ultrasonic sensors with wireless capabilities, allowing precise remote management. Rigorous testing validates the system’s reliability, while user training and feedback contribute to its ongoing refinement. This work highlights the transformative potential of modern technology in revolutionizing traditional poultry farming, enhancing both efficiency and affordability.
