Combined Economic Emission Dispatch in 19 & 31 Generator System using Nature-Inspired Optimization Methods
The rising demand for electrical energy calls for advanced optimization techniques to ensure both economic efficiency and environmental sustainability in Combined Economic Emission Dispatch (CEED). This paper proposes an optimized CEED approach for 19-bus and 31-bus generator systems using Henry Gas Solubility Optimization (HGSO), Quadratic Interpolation Optimization (QIO), and the Superb Fairy-wren Optimization Algorithm (SFOA). The objective is to minimize fuel cost and emissions while satisfying system constraints, including power balance and generator limits. Comparative analysis of these techniques demonstrates that QIO achieves the lowest power loss and operational cost, with QIO reducing power loss to just 0.5747 MW for the 31generator system compared to 13.7462 MW in HGSO, and achieving the lowest cost of 70,341.84, outperforming HGSO (73,730.73) and SFOA (71,881.91). Similar trends are observed in the 19-generator system, where QIO consistently delivers superior performance in economic dispatch. These results validate the effectiveness of QIO over HGSO and SFOA, making it a promising approach for real-world power system optimization.
