Identification of Different Medicinal Plants Using EfficientNet model

In Ayurveda, herbal medicine and pharmacology, the ability to identify therapeutic plant leaves is essential. Manual observation is the foundation of traditional plant leaf identification techniques, which is laborious and prone to human mistake. To overcome this challenge, we introduce an automated medicinal plant leaf identification system using EfficientNet, a Deep Learning model (DL) optimized for image classification. In this article, EfficientNet, a Convolutional neural network (CNN) based DL model is utilized to accurately identify plant leaf. The model undergoes training on a diverse dataset comprising images of Neem, Tulsi, Aloe Vera, and Mint. The developed system obtains a high accuracy rate of ${9 6 . 5 \%}$, surpassing traditional CNN and ResNet models. The proposed model provides a robust, real-time solution for medicinal plant identification, aiding in herbal research, conservation, and pharmaceutical applications.
