Abstract

Palm oil-based biomass presents a promising avenue for renewable energy harvesting, offering vast potential for sustainable energy production. This study focuses on optimizing the utilization of palm oil biomass for energy generation, aiming to enhance efficiency and sustainability while mitigating environmental impacts. Various aspects are explored, including biomass collection, pre-processing techniques, and conversion technologies such as combustion, gasification, and pyrolysis. Additionally, the integration of advanced technologies like co-firing with conventional fuels and combined heat and power (CHP) systems in investigated to maximize energy output and utilization. Economic feasibility and environmental sustainability assessments are conducted to evaluate the viability of different strategies. The findings highlight the significance of tailored approaches in optimizing palm oil-based biomass technology, considering regional variations, resource availability, and socio-economic factors. Implementation of optimized biomass utilization strategies not only contributes to energy security and greenhouse gas reduction but also fosters socio-economic development in palm oil-producing regions. This research underscores the importance of leveraging palm oil biomass as a renewable energy resource through effective technological and operational optimizations for a sustainable energy future.
