An improved Active Loop Control Strategy for Distributed Generation Systems in Virtual Synchronous Generator
With the growing penetration of distributed generation units, the frequency rate of change (Rocof), a key indicator of dynamic performance, has garnered increasing attention in grid - connected systems. This paper proposes a power feedforward active loop control strategy for distributed generation systems. Through analyzing the frequency variation and power low - frequency oscillation issues in virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control, the necessity of enhancing system damping is identified, and a corresponding control strategy based on a power feedforward controller is designed. The process starts with simplifying the VSG’s power control model to derive its active - reactive control equations and small - signal model. Then, the damping strategy, designed and adjusted via parameter tuning of the power feedforward controller, is validated considering power coupling. HIL experiments confirm that the strategy achieves smooth power dynamic responses without overshoot or oscillation, proving its effectiveness.
