Cryptography Framework for Securing Cardiovascular Data in IoT based on Chaos Theory

Safeguarding cardiovascular health data in devices based on IoT is a serious challenge because of the restrictions of lightweight and systems that are low-power. Old encryption algorithms often need extensive computational resources, making them not appropriate for real-time IoT applications. In this paper, it presents a cryptographic algorithm based on chaos designed for securing cardiovascular data like ECG signals in resource-constrained IoT environments. By means of a simulation via Matlab, the performance of the proposed encryption structure was evaluated in terms of encryption speed, computational efficiency, and key sensitivity. The results show that the algorithm gives high security with low computational requirement, aiding in lightweight IoT medical applications like a wearable ECG monitor that encrypts and sends patient data securely. Future work will deal on applying this framework on real IoT hardware to confirm real-time performance.
