Evaluation of yield and nutrient uptake parameters in Wheat under varying seed rates and nutrient management practices under late sown condition

The field experiment was carried out at Agronomy farm, Acharya Narendra Dev University of Agriculture and technology Ayodhya during Rabi season 2023-24 and 2024 –2025. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of seed rate with different nutrient management practices on uptake and yield of late sown wheat crop. The experiment followed a split plot design with four treatments in main plot and five treatments in sub plot. The purpose of the experiment was to examine the seed rate S1-100 kg ha-1, S2-125 kg ha-1, S3-150 kg ha-1 and S4-175 kg ha-1 with effects of five nutrient management practices N1-100% RDF, N2-FYM 10 t ha-1, N3-100% RDF + FYM 10 t ha-1 , N4- 75% RDF + FYM (10 t ha-1) + Biofertilizer consortium 5 kg ha-1 and N5-50% RDF + FYM 10 t ha-1 + Biofertilizer consortium 5 kg ha-1 on uptake and yield of late sown wheat crop. Pooled data indicated application of nutrient management practices in which nutrient uptake S3 150 kg ha-1 indicated maximum uptake of available nutrient in grain and straw. Nitrogen (82.88 kg ha-1) and (34.92 kg ha-1), Phosphorus (17.18 kg ha-1) and (14.50 kg ha-1), Potassium(26.73 kg ha-1) and (78.68 kg ha-1), N475% RDF + FYM (10 t ha-1) + Biofertilizer consortium 5 kg ha-1 indicated highest uptake of available nutrient in grain and straw Nitrogen (92.08 kg ha-1) and (37.18 kg ha-1), Phosphorus (19.62 kg ha-1) and (17.59 kg ha-1) potassium (29.31 kg ha-1) and (83.22 kg ha-1). Under yield characters S3 150 kg ha-1 indicated highest grain yield (45.64 kg ha-1), straw yield (64.49 kg ha-1) and harvest index (41.36 kg ha-1). Although N4 75% RDF + FYM (10 t ha-1) + Biofertilizer consortium 5 kg ha-1indicated maximum grain yield (47.03 kg ha1 ), straw yield (63.84 kg ha-1) and harvest index (42.35 kg ha-1) respectively.
