A Tailorable Metal‐Free Supramolecular Oxidase Equivalent with Photoswitchable Functions (Small 31/2025)
Enzyme Mimetics In article number 2411416, P. Rajamalli, Subinoy Rana, and co-workers report a new supramolecular enzyme mimic called Suprazyme that exhibits superior oxidase enzyme-like activity. This metal-free suprazyme is constructed from the self-assembly of organic benzohydrazide derivatives. Besides high catalytic performance, robustness, storage stability, and biocompatibility, the suprazyme exhibits photo-controlled activity switching. Efficient antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative strains is demonstrated in the presence of light.
