STRATEGIC PLANNING IN AGRICULTURE: METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES AND CLASSIFICATION

The article examines various classifications of strategies in the strategic management system with an emphasis on application in agricultural production. The approaches of well-known researchers who propose a multi-level and multi-factor structure of strategies, including corporate, competitive and functional levels, are analyzed. The article pays special attention to the specifics of the agricultural sector, taking into account natural conditions and seasonality. Classifications of strategies by various criteria are presented: level, direction, timing, type of resources and goals, as well as taking into account modern economic, technological and innovative opportunities (innovativeness, diversification, geographic coverage and degree of integration). The need for a comprehensive analysis of the internal and external environment of the enterprise is emphasized to select optimal strategies taking into account industry specifics and financial stability. It is concluded that the proposed classifications contribute to the formation of a systematic approach to strategic planning in agriculture and to increasing the efficiency of management of agricultural enterprises in a dynamically changing economic environment.
