ASSESSING THE EFFICACY OF MGNREGA IN GRASS ROOT LEVEL IN ARUNACHAL PRADESH

The problems of unemployment and poverty are the two major concerns for every developing country.The two main issues faced by the Indian government after independence are widespread unemployment and extreme poverty.The Indian government launched numbers of welfare programmes, including the MGNREGA, to address these issues.Since the inception of MGNREGA, the scheme has immensely contributed to employment generation in rural areas.However, many researchers questioned its execution.Therefore, the paper tried to comprehend the implementation of the MGNREGA in Arunachal Pradesh.Accordingly, it has found that MGNREGA has a noteworthy impact on reducing unemployment rates and poverty in the area under investigation.Adherence to implementation, anomalies is also noted.
