Coordinated Deloading and Frequency Regulation Control Method for the Wind Farm Based on Overspeed Priority
As the penetration of wind power in China continues to increase, the inertia and frequency regulation capability of the power system have been steadily decreasing, creating an urgent need for the wind farm to participate in system frequency regulation. However, traditional station-level frequency regulation control strategies lack a coordinated mechanism and cannot fully utilize the frequency regulation capabilities of each turbine, thus there is a pressing need for a coordinated frequency regulation control method for the wind farm that takes the operational state of the turbines into account. Based on the analysis of typical station-level frequency regulation control, this paper establishes a coordinated deloading control method for the wind farm that prioritizes overspeed control. Then, a frequency regulation control method for the wind farm is proposed, which incorporates the operational states of turbines in the wind farm and uses secondary tuning to address the active power shortfall from turbines that do not participate in frequency regulation. Finally, simulation results based on the MATLAB/Simulink platform demonstrate that the proposed method can fully utilize the frequency regulation performance of each turbine and effectively improve the frequency regulation capability of the wind farm.
