DC/DC Boost Converter Using Adaptive Fuzzy Logic Controller

Abstract The design of a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) that employs voltage output as feedback to enhance a boost DC-DC converter’s dynamic performance is presented in this paper. Using MATLAB as the simulation platform, the suggested methodology seeks to design and construct a FLC to control the converter. A specific FLC technique was developed in order to incorporate the fuzzy logic controller into the system. To make sure the converter runs in the continuous conduction mode, component design and calculations were done, focusing special attention to the inductor. MATLAB software simulations were used to examine and contrast system performance under both open-loop and closed-loop settings. Reduced voltage and current ripples, less overshoot, and a quick transient response are provided with proposed adaptive fuzzy controller (AFLC). The proportional (P) and integral (I) parts of the control system are referred to in this context as PI. As compared to the usual method, the simulation results produced by the suggested method are superior.
