Improving productivity and quality in structural steel fabrication by integrating LSS into scrum framework.

The growth of the construction and structural fabrication industry has become a critical aspect in supporting sustainable infrastructure development in many countries. One of the main factors of concern in this industry is improving productivity and quality in the structural fabrication process. In an effort to achieve this, structural fabrication organizations are increasingly adopting innovative and efficient project management methodologies. A descriptive exploratory approach was used in this study using surveys, discussions, as well as direct data collection in the field. Scrum and Lean Six Sigma integration research based on DMAIC and Value Stream Mapping methods. Based on quality assurance data and company business goals that lead to customer satisfaction with quality and productivity. And to achieve the company's goals with direct observation in the field found critical to quality that needs to be improved in the future where there is waste in the form of transportation, storage, defects. The integration of LSS in the Scrum framework to improve the quality of Structural Steel fabrication has a positive impact in several aspects including defect identification, tighter quality control, improved production processes, increased customer satisfaction, reduced re-work costs, increased quality awareness and a culture of continuous improvement.
